A 26-year-old youth from Gangaram village in Bijinapally mandal of Nagarkurnool district died in the United States after battling a prolonged illness, leaving his family and villagers in deep grief.
The deceased, Sai Arun Reddy, completed his B.Tech in 2020 and moved to the US in 2021 to pursue higher studies. His mother, Saralamma, works as an Anganwadi worker, while his father, Venkat Reddy, is a farmer.
According to friends and family members, Arun had been suffering from health issues for several months and had considered returning to India for treatment. However, concerns over visa-related complications and the possibility of difficulties in re-entering the US reportedly influenced his decision to continue treatment there. Despite receiving medical care, his health deteriorated and he passed away at his residence three days ago.
The family is now struggling to bring his mortal remains back to India, with repatriation costs estimated at nearly Rs 30 lakh. Telugu community members and friends in the US are raising funds to support the transportation arrangements. Villagers said the body is expected to reach Gangaram village within the next few days.
