Narsingi Police have arrested a key accused and his driver for allegedly attempting to grab valuable government land in Survey No. 18 of Gandipet village using forged government documents and fabricated official records. The accused were identified as Veladi Radhakrishna (53) and Gyara Praveen Kumar (34), who were arrested in Crime No. 990/2026 registered under various provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.
According to police, Radhakrishna had earlier worked as an outsourcing employee in the Information Technology and Communications Department of the erstwhile Andhra Pradesh Secretariat. Investigators alleged that he later posed as a government official and advocate and was involved in multiple cheating and forgery cases in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.
Police said he subsequently became involved in land frauds and established contacts with persons claiming rights over government poramboke land in Gandipet. Investigators alleged that he and his associates attempted to create ownership claims over the land through fabricated Government Orders, forged CCLA proceedings, fake No Objection Certificates and other documents carrying forged signatures of senior officials. The investigation has so far revealed financial transactions of around Rs.12 crore linked to the alleged conspiracy. Police said Praveen Kumar assisted Radhakrishna by transporting documents, facilitating communication and helping him evade arrest.
During the operation, police seized fabricated GOs, five laptops, 12 cheque books, 13 stamps, seven bank passbooks, 10 ATM cards and 31 land-related documents. Further investigation is underway.
