A Nigerian woman was arrested by the Secunderabad Drugs Task Force (DTF) on Friday after she allegedly transported 7.5 grams of cocaine from Mumbai to Hyderabad. The arrest was made based on specific intelligence about the woman carrying narcotics. Acting on a tip-off that the woman was arriving from Mumbai to the Paradise area in Secunderabad, a team led by DTF CI Soujanya, along with SI Shivakrishna and staff including Constables Raju, Ravi, and Shilpa, laid a trap.
The accused was intercepted as she arrived in an auto-rickshaw near Sunshine Hospital in the Paradise locality. During the search, officials seized five packets containing a total of 7.5 grams of cocaine from the woman, identified as being associated with a Nigerian contact named James Tesling Yamunual. Interrogation revealed that the woman had purchased the cocaine in Mumbai at the rate of approximately Rs 15,000 per gram. She intended to sell it in Hyderabad at Rs 30,000 per gram.
The total value of the seized drugs in the local market was estimated at around Rs 2.35 lakh. Hyderabad DCP Anil Kumar Reddy and Additional Superintendent of Police A.S. Srinivas Rao commended CI Soujanya and the entire DTF team for the successful operation and the seizure of the narcotics.
