Union Minister for Coal and Mines G Kishan Reddy on Tuesday said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi's government was the only government in the country that stood by the farmers. He said that they had deposited PM Kisan money into the bank accounts of the farmers on Monday.”

We are depositing money in the accounts of every farmer three times a year without a day's delay. These funds are being used to increase the crop produce by 100 per cent and not to go around the banks for buying fertilizers, seeds and cultivation,” he said.

Reddy said that In Telangana, 31 lakh farmers would be benefited from the PM-Kisan scheme. He said that despite many hurdles, difficulties and financial problems, the central government was regularly providing the PM-KISAN funds. “The 19th tranche of money was deposited in the bank accounts of 9.08 crore people. Rs 22 crore has been deposited In Telangana and 31 lakh farmers have benefited. The PM Kisan Samman funds are being provided under director benefit transfer scheme.

Commenting on the News reports of the shortage of fertilizers, he said when he saw the news of the shortage, he spoke to the Central agricultural minister J P Nadda and added that the MSP for the agriculture sector had been increased. “We have seen in the newspapers that there is a shortage of fertilizers in Telangana state also. In some areas, there have been reports that farmers are waiting in queues by keeping their slippers in the queue lines. I immediately spoke to Union Agriculture Minister JP Nadda.

I have immediately brought it to the notice of the Centre in the wake of the farmers protests for the fertilizers in many areas. The Centre has clearly released more quota than what the state government has asked for. There is no need for anyone to worry. It is because of the incompetence of the state government that some businessmen are indulging in activities to create artificial scarcity. The officials are saying that there is no shortage of fertilizers. During the UPA regime across the country, urea was transported to the black market. But under the Modi government, such systems have been put on back burner,” he claimed.

He said if 9.5 lakh metric tonnes of urea was required, they had sent 10 lakh metric tonnes of urea and added that steps had been taken to produce 90% of urea domestically. He recalled that production had also started in Ramagundam. "For the last 10 years, the Centre has taken steps to ensure that there is no shortage of the fertilizers anywhere in the country. As per the old practice, when the Congress party comes to power, it creates an artificial scarcity of the fertilisers and puts the farmers in trouble,” he alleged.

Reddy said that the BJP was the voice of intellectuals and educated people. "I have given more priority to meeting BJP voters in the elections. In this way, programmes have been taken up to meet MPs, MLAs and voters at the grassroots level,” Kishan Reddy said that those who hear the problems of teachers and graduates in the legislatures should be voted in the MLC elections and added  that the BJP would  become their heartbeat in the legislative council and make their voice heard.
