BioAsia 2025, Asia’s premier Life Sciences and Healthcare Conference, witnessed a major boost for Telangana’s life sciences sector as 11 pharmaceutical companies signed Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with the state government. The agreements will bring an investment of Rs 5,445 crore into Green Pharma City, generating 9,800 new jobs and reinforcing Telangana’s position as a global pharma hub.

The newly signed MoUs include leading pharma giants such as Granules, Orbicular, Aizant, Biological E, Virchow, Virupaksha, Jubilant, Vimta, Aragen, Bharat Biotech, and Sai Life Sciences. With these commitments, the total investment in Green Pharma City now stands at Rs 11,100 crore, creating over 22,300 employment opportunities.

Telangana’s thriving life sciences ecosystem continues to attract global investments. Notable announcements at BioAsia 2025 included MSD, USA’s entry into the state, Agilisium’s new innovation lab in Hyderabad, and ALS’s establishment of a state-of-the-art Bio Pharma cGMP testing lab in Genome Valley. Meishi Pharma, a Lotus company, is also expanding its R&D footprint in Hyderabad.

Further strengthening the industry’s growth, the Telangana Government has forged strategic partnerships, including a Letter of Intent with the University of Queensland for advanced research in digital healthcare and AI-driven innovations. Additionally, Telangana is set to become the first hub under the World Economic Forum’s Indian Digital Health Activator initiative, aiming to bridge supply and demand gaps in digital health.

The state also launched the Innovative Pharmaceutical Services Organization (IPSO), uniting 11 leading contract research and development organizations to drive innovation and foster a favorable regulatory environment. Collaboration with Health Innovation Manchester and T-Hub is also underway to advance MedTech, diagnostics, and digital health solutions.
