Water Board officials clarified that no water body land has been occupied in the Attapur village of Rajendranagar mandal of Rangareddy district on Tuesday.

Recently there have been reports in several newspapers and media that the land belonging to the Water board is being seized in Attapur village of Rajendranagar mandal of Rangareddy district.

Officials went to the village to verify the land by the order of Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy.  The water board officials immediately took stock of the situation and took appropriate measures to stop them along with the local police and other officials.

During 2006, the then government allocated 24.20 acres of land in various survey numbers to the Water Board for constructing sewage treatment plants. The Water board has constructed two Sewage Treatment Plants (STPs) with a capacity of 23 and 51 MLD on land in Attapur area. They treat the sewage from the surrounding areas.

However, with the increase in the number of colonies due to urbanization, the production of sewage also increased accordingly. With this, the government decided to build 2 more new STPs to purify that water as well. As part of that, 2 more new STPs with a capacity of 64 and 40 MLD are being constructed.
