In a bid to reduce overcrowding, TTD has launched kiosks

The Tirumala Tirupathi Devasthanam has taken steps to reduce congestion and overcrowding at Tirumala laddu counters. To this end, it has come up with a system where devotees can take laddu tickets through kiosks. The experimental approach was launched on Sunday. In fact, devotees who wish to get the laddu prasadam in addition should buy it by paying cash at the laddu sales centre. The process takes a long time and sometimes even increases congestion.
Now, the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) has come up with a new policy. The devotee has to register his darshan ticket number at the kiosk. He has to select the number of laddus he wants and pay in cash through UPI. If the receipt obtained then is given at the laddu counter, the laddus will be served there. Devotees who do not have darshan tickets can buy two laddus by entering the Aadhaar number. The authorities have also taken steps to increase this number to four laddus.
In this regard, five kiosks under the aegis of Canara Bank and Union Bank have been set up on a pilot basis at the laddu sales centre. Three more have been set up at the MBC enquiry centre, which gets VIP break darshan tickets. They are also being set up at the Sri Padmavathi enquiry centre, the CRO inquiry centre and prominent guest houses across Tirumala. Efforts are also being made to ensure that VIP break darshan tickets are also available through kiosks. It is said that that this policy will be available soon.
