Residents of Pattigadda Colony felicitated Dr. Kota Neelima, PCC Vice President and Congress Party In-charge for the Sanath Nagar Assembly constituency on Tuesday, for her role in securing changes to the proposed Pattigadda–Rasoolpura Junction flyover alignment, ensuring the project would not adversely affect local residents. They honoured her with a ceremonial shawl and floral garlands in appreciation of her efforts.
Residents said Dr. Neelima had taken up their concerns from the beginning and relentlessly pursued the issue with the government. They said the revised alignment protected hundreds of families and reflected her commitment to safeguarding the interests of the community.
Addressing the gathering, Dr. Neelima said the original alignment would have affected several houses, displaced hundreds of families and threatened heritage structures in the locality. “We conveyed the concerns of residents to the government and submitted an alternative alignment suggested by the community. The revised route balances infrastructure development with the protection of people's homes and heritage,” she said.
She thanked Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, Ministers Ponnam Prabhakar and Komatireddy Venkat Reddy, GHMC Commissioner R.V. Karnan and officials for supporting the revision. The programme was attended by local Congress leaders, party workers and residents.
