East Zone Police have recovered 100 mobile phones reported lost, stolen, or missing over the past month. The special drive, supported by Additional DCPs, ACPs, Station House Officers (SHOs), and technical staff of the East Zone, was carried out across multiple police stations. Authorities employed advanced tracking techniques, including the Central Equipment Identity Register (CEIR) portal, technical surveillance, and coordination with mobile network providers to trace the devices.

Valued at approximately Rs 25 lakh, the recovered mobile phones were returned to their rightful owners during a handover ceremony held on Monday at the office of the DCP, East Zone in Amberpet. Each device was verified using IMEI numbers, ownership proof, and corresponding FIR or complaint records before being handed back.

Many recipients expressed heartfelt gratitude to the police for their swift action and efficient use of technology in recovering their lost property.
