Minister for Revenue, Housing & Information and Public Relations Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy announced that an ex-gratia payment of Rs 5 lakh will be given to each family of the victims who lost their lives in the devastating fire incident at Nampally, Hyderabad. Expressing profound sorrow over the tragic loss of five innocent individuals in the fire, Minister Srinivas Reddy instructed Hyderabad District Collector Hari Chandana to take prompt actions to ensure the timely disbursement of the ex-gratia to the affected families.
In a statement issued on Sunday, Srinivas Reddy further directed the district collector to implement stringent measures concerning fire safety regulations and security standards, aimed at preventing future occurrences of such incidents. He disclosed that preliminary investigations indicated the fire was a result of the shop owner's negligence, and the individual involved has been apprehended. The Minister emphasised that stringent legal action will be pursued against those found culpable.
