Rani Mukerji’s Mardaani 3 first look out; celebrates the strength of female-led franchises in a male-dominated Bollywood landscape

Rani Mukerji starrer Mardaani 3’s first look was unveiled on Monday. In Bollywood, we have many male-centric franchise movies, but when it comes to female-centric franchise films, there are very less. However, from Rani Mukerji’s Mardaani to Vidya Balan starrer Kahaani, there are a few female-centric franchises that have left a strong mark.

Mardaani

Mardaani was released in 2014, and Rani Mukerji’s portrayal of fierce cop, Shivani Shivaji Roy, was loved by one and all. The movie was made into a franchise, and while Mardaani 2 was released in 2019, Mardaani 3 is all set to release in February 2026.
