Prabhakar Parkala denies video

09-10-2025 12:00:00 AM

A fraudulent video in circulation in which many prominent personalities like Sudha Murthy, Dr Parkala Prabhakar, Shaktikanta Das endorsing a finance scheme allegedly government of India. This appears to be a fraudulent investment scam promoting unrealistic returns, often spread via deepfake videos on social media. Dr. Parakala Prabhakar (an economist and husband of Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman) has not endorsed any such scheme—there is no credible evidence or link to a legitimate video of him doing so. Extensive searches across X and the web turned up no matching content.

Similar deepfake videos have circulated using other high-profile figures (e.g., Principal Secretary Shaktikanta Das) to promote the exact same promise: investing Rs 21,000 for Rs 1 million monthly returns. These have been officially debunked as manipulated fakes by the Press Information Bureau (PIB) Fact Check.

Dr Parkala Prabhakar has categorically told Metro India that the video in circulation is fake and fraudulent and he would never endorse or promote any scheme or programme.
