‘Praja Palana- Pragathi Pranilika’ launched in Zoo

N. Kshitija, Chief Conservator of Forests( CCF) Wildlife , Telangana along with J.Vasantha, Curator, Nehru Zoological Park, inaugurated on Monday the 99 days “Praja Palana- Pragathi Pranilika” initiative of the Telangana government and launched the environmental protection program at the bioscope hall. Later the Chief Conservator of Forests , the  zoo curator, the zoo staff and zoo corps participated and planted plant 50 different plant species inside the Zoo premises. A “Clean and Green Drive” was also conducted where all the Zoo staff members participated and cleaned the plastic waste inside the Zoo.

The “Praja Palana-Pragathi Pranalika”  initiative running from March 6th to June 12th-2026 aims to accelerate grassroots development, improve public service delivery and ensure that welfare benefits reach eligible households. It targets 10 core themes to ensure holistic state. Under this program schedule the 10th theme is environment (green drives and sustainability awareness) from 1st June to 12th June-2026.  Speaking on the occasion N.Kshitija, said that the Telangana Government has launched a massive 99-day campaign to reach out to the public and that creating awareness about environmental protection is a major part of the program.

In Nehru Zoological Park, a 12-day daily activities schedule has been announced for environment theme programs. They are as follows:  Day-1:Launch of environmental protection program; Day-2 Telangana Formation Day; Day-3: Awareness program and outreach; Day-4: Educational activities; Day- 5: World Environment Day; Day-6: Nature activities; Day-7: Public Health activities; Day-8: Infrastructure / Inauguration/ CSR; Day-9: Staff welfare; Day-10: Environmental Educational Programs; Day-11: Zoo and Wildlife activities; Day-12: Review and closing ceremony.

She expressed happiness and satisfaction over the commitment and dedication towards the environmental protection. She also appreciated the zoo management and staff for the clean and green drive and plantation program.
