IPEMA Poultry India, with support from the National Egg Coordination Committee, observed World Protein Day (February 27) at SkyKings Football Academy, Bowenpally, Secunderabad, promoting the importance of protein in daily diets.

Experts highlighted that protein plays a vital role in muscle development, immunity, child growth and overall wellness. They pointed out that many Indians fall short of the recommended intake, leading to hidden nutritional deficiencies that impact productivity and long term health.

India produces over 130 billion eggs and more than 5 million metric tonnes of broiler meat annually, with per capita availability crossing 95 eggs a year. Industry leaders noted that poultry remains one of the most affordable and high quality protein sources.

Md Zakeer Hussain and Dr Kiraannmayye Addu stressed balanced protein intake for youth fitness. IPEMA President Uday Singh Bayas reaffirmed the sector’s commitment to nutritional security and invited participation in Poultry India Expo 2026 at HITEX in November.
