Actor R K Sagar, fresh off the success of his thriller The 100, is set to helm a pan-India film based on the lives of Singareni coal miners. Inspired by his own roots in a Singareni workers’ family, Sagar aims to bring their untold stories to the big screen, focusing on their struggles, hardships, and the human bonds forged in the mining community.
Directed by Jeevan Reddy, known for George Reddy, the film promises a hard-hitting narrative set against the gritty backdrop of Telangana’s coal mines. Reddy’s storytelling will delve deep into the workers' sacrifices and daily challenges, offering audiences an emotional and immersive experience.
Sagar will play the lead role, with plans to cast a popular star for a pivotal part, making it a multi-industry venture. Actors from Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, and Hindi film industries are expected to join the project.
The film will feature large-scale, realistic sets, including underground coal mine replicas. Shooting is scheduled to begin in November, with more details about the project to be revealed soon.
