Telangana Congress to push for 42% Reservation agenda

Congress leader and Leader of the Opposition in Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, will address a significant gathering of OBC leaders at the Talkatora Stadium, New Delhi, on July 25 at 10 AM. The event will serve as a platform to chart the future course of a strong and inclusive OBC movement focused on the social, educational, and economic upliftment of marginalized communities across India.
From Telangana, PCC President B Mahesh Kumar Goud will lead a high-level delegation of OBC ministers, MPs, MLAs, MLCs, former legislators, Corporation Chairpersons, DCC Presidents, OBC frontal leaders of the party, intellectuals, caste association heads, and representatives from Youth Congress, NSUI, and various allied institutions.
The primary focus of the meeting will be to strengthen the OBC narrative at the national level and enhance awareness about the role and responsibilities of OBC leaders in uniting and mobilizing backward communities across the country.
AICC President Mallikarjun Kharge will also address the gathering alongside Rahul Gandhi.
Telangana Congress OBC leaders are expected to deliberate with Rahul Gandhi on the pending legislation passed in the Telangana Assembly, seeking 42% reservations for OBCs in education, employment, and political representation. The bill has been sent to the Governor for onward transmission to the President. Similarly, discussions will be held on the ordinance approved by the Telangana Cabinet, which proposes 42% reservation for OBCs in local body elections. This strategic interaction is aimed at accelerating the party’s commitment to OBC empowerment at both state and national levels.
