In a spirited and assertive inaugural address, senior leader N. Ramchander Rao officially assumed charge as the new President of the BJP’s Telangana unit, pledging to usher in a new era of governance in the state. Delivering a high-energy speech laced with ideological conviction and political aggression, Rao launched a scathing attack on the ruling Congress and the BRS, accusing them of running “corrupt, dynastic regimes” that have betrayed the people’s aspirations.
Rallies BJP to Telangana takeover
Rao struck a deeply emotional chord with party workers, recalling the party’s humble beginnings in undivided Andhra Pradesh when Jan Sangh candidates barely received a thousand votes. “Even then, our karyakartas celebrated because they believed in growth and ideology. Today, from that single flame, BJP has grown into a formidable force with 8 MPs, 8 MLAs, and MLCs in Telangana,” he said.
Positioning himself as a committed karyakarta rather than merely a president, Rao emphasized that the real strength of BJP lies in its disciplined cadre, ideological clarity, and unwavering sacrifices. He paid homage to BJP leaders and ABVP activists who laid down their lives in Telangana, including those who fell to Naxalite violence, citing their sacrifices as the foundation of the party’s current strength.
Dares rivals, vows legal war on defamation
Lashing out at Congress and BRS, he accused them of weaponising social media with fake news and trolling through “WhatsApp and fake news universities.” He challenged them to face him in open debate rather than resorting to anonymous attacks. “I’m not just a leader. I’m a criminal lawyer. I will not hesitate to pursue legal action against slander and defamation,” Rao warned.
He reiterated the BJP’s commitment to good governance, women’s empowerment, youth participation, and a corruption-free administration. Calling upon youth and women to join the party in large numbers, Rao underlined that new blood is essential for the river of BJP to continue flowing and expanding.
Promises to hoist saffron flag atop Golconda Fort
Promising an aggressive campaign in the run-up to the upcoming municipal and panchayat elections, Rao vowed to take the BJP's ideology and message into every household in the state. “With collective leadership, discipline, and hard work, we will hoist the saffron flag atop Golconda Fort,” he declared.
The address marks the formal launch of the BJP's intensified outreach campaign in Telangana, with the new state chief aiming to galvanise cadre at the grassroots and position the BJP as the alternative to the Congress-led government.
