The Andhra Pradesh government has intensified preparations for “Yogandhra-2026,” a statewide initiative to mark the 12th International Day of Yoga. With an ambitious target of involving one crore people across the state, registrations for the programm will commence on June 7 through the dedicated Yogandhra-2026 portal.

The registration process will be facilitated through village and ward secretariats, enabling mass participation in yoga activities scheduled from June 7 to June 21. To ensure smooth implementation, the government has appointed Ayush Department officials as nodal officers for each district.

As part of the capacity-building exercise, around 5,600 yoga masters will train 2.5 lakh trainers across Andhra Pradesh. These training programms will be conducted at district and mandal levels over three days, with each yoga master training at least 50 participants, who will subsequently train others in their respective localities.

To monitor and coordinate the large-scale initiative, a dedicated War Room has been established at the Health Department headquarters in Mangalagiri. The control center comprises 30 officials drawn from the Ayush Department, National Health Mission, NTR Vaidya Seva Trust, Directorate of Medical Education and other health agencies.
