The 6 to 8 hour surgery involved a Right Reverse Shoulder Arthroplasty (where the ball and socket of the shoulder joint are reversed, creating a more stable joint) followed by Open Reduction and Internal Fixation (ORIF) of the left shoulder using a PHILOS plate fixation.
