K.T. Rama Rao, Working President of the Bharat Rashtra Samithi, launched a sharp attack on the Congress government, accusing Chief Minister Revanth Reddy of betraying Unemployed Youth by failing to fulfill the promise of providing two lakh government jobs.
KTR said that despite completing nearly two years in office, the Congress government has delivered “zero recruitment” in Telangana. He termed the Chief Minister’s repeated attempts to evade responsibility on job creation as shameless and warned that the anger and anguish of unemployed youth would inevitably catch up with the government.
Recalling the Congress promise made during the election campaign, KTR said the Chief Minister had categorically assured that two lakh jobs would be filled within the first year of assuming office.
However, after coming to power, the government conveniently diluted this assurance by claiming it was a five-year target. This blatant backtracking, he said, has deeply hurt the aspirations of lakhs of job seekers and their families.
KTR pointed out that under the previous BRS government, recruitment for nearly 1.65 lakh posts had already been completed or was in its final stages. He accused the current government of merely distributing appointment letters for those jobs for photo opportunities and then abandoning recruitment altogether, pushing Telangana into a phase of “Recruitment Zero”.
He further alleged that the Congress government has not issued notifications even for ten thousand new jobs and has instead buried the job calendar, while indulging in scams and misgovernance. According to KTR, not only unemployed youth but also parents and families are openly expressing their anger against the government’s failure.
Extending his criticism beyond employment, KTR said the Congress government has cheated all sections of society. He accused it of defaulting on Rythu Bandhu payments, affecting nearly 70 lakh farmers, and failing to deliver the promised ₹2,500 monthly assistance to women. He termed the much-publicised six guarantees as mere illusions and acts of deception.
KTR asserted that no apology or symbolic gesture would absolve the Chief Minister of this betrayal. He warned that the collective strength of Telangana’s youth and unemployed would soon make the Congress government accountable for its broken promises.
