Telangana Agriculture Minister Tummala Nageswara Rao said on Tuesday that it is his personal opinion that every farmer who cultivates crops should get Rythu Bharosa. He said that the government has not yet taken any decision on the procedures related to the Rythu Bharosa scheme. He asked farmers not to believe the misinformation being spread by some media houses and opposition parties. The minister spoke to reporters at his farm in Sathupalli mandal of Khammam district.
He said that a cabinet sub-committee appointed by the state government is discussing the Rythu Bharosa procedures. He clarified that there is no truth in the campaign that an attempt is being made to reduce the number of farmers in the Rythu Bharosa scheme. He said that only the farmer insurance policies were discussed in the cabinet sub-committee. He asked for suggestions and advice that would benefit the farmers regarding farmer insurance. He also said that the government's goal is to build at least one palm oil factory in every joint district of the state.
