Consumer electronics giant Samsung is working towards delivering a seamless, unified artificial intelligence (AI) experience across all its products and services, its newly appointed co-CEO T M Roh said on Monday.
Speaking at Samsung’s “First Look” event in Las Vegas, Roh said the South Korean major will embed AI across every product category — from smartphones and TVs to appliances, wearables and displays — to offer users a connected and intelligent ecosystem.
Samsung ships nearly 500 million devices globally every year, Roh said, adding that all of them are designed to work together through seamless multi-device connectivity. He noted that no other company currently operates at such scale across diverse consumer electronics categories.
Roh, who was named Head of the Device eXperience (DX) division and appointed co-CEO in November last year, said Samsung aims to combine on-device AI features such as privacy, personalisation and real-time processing with cloud-based AI for more complex tasks. This hybrid approach, he said, will form the foundation for advanced multi-device intelligence.
Acknowledging that innovation cannot happen in isolation, Roh said Samsung is partnering with global technology leaders to create more meaningful AI-powered experiences for users.
At the event, Samsung showcased its next-generation AI-powered products, including a 130-inch Micro RGB TV offering highly detailed colour accuracy through independently operating red, green and blue micro diodes. The company also unveiled a new Odyssey gaming monitor lineup, led by its first 6K 3D Odyssey G9.
Samsung further introduced an AI-enabled refrigerator upgraded with Google Gemini-powered AI Vision, designed to better recognise food items and simplify meal planning and food management.
