The CBSE Class 10 board examinations triggered divided reactions this week, with students calling the Science paper “extremely easy and direct” while terming the Mathematics exam “unexpectedly tough and lengthy.” The Science paper brought visible relief across examination centres. Students said most questions were straight from the NCERT textbook and based on clear concepts. Teachers too agreed that the Science paper was balanced and student-friendly.
However, the Mathematics paper told a different story. Students described the Maths paper as tough, tricky, and time-consuming. Some education experts believe that the Mathematics paper aimed to test conceptual clarity rather than routine practice, but students felt the difficulty level was higher compared to Science. The contrast between the two core subjects has sparked discussion among parents and educators. While Science rewarded textbook preparation, Mathematics required strong application skills and speed.
