SCR earns Rs 602.06 Crore by selling scrap

South Central Railway pioneered in ‘Mission Zero scrap’ which states, that no scrap should be accumulated without disposal formore than amonth. In this direction SCR has earned Rs.602.06 Crs by selling Scrap surpassing Railway Board’s Target of Rs.510.00 Crs. for the current Financial Year, 2025-26.

SCR sold total qty of 132583 MTs of scrap by mobilizing/collecting generated scrap and selling through e-Auction to buyers from across India ensuring 100% transparency.Selling the accumulated scrap has highly contributed to ‘Swatch Bharat Mission’ of Government of India

and also ensured clean and green premises of entire South-Central Railway. This achievementhas been made possible by meticulous planning and efforts. Last year SCR has sold the scrap to the tune of Rs.501.72 Crs and this year exceeded last year’s sales by over Rs.100 Crs and

registered highest record sales in the history of SCR and also achieved number one position in scrap sales on Indian Railways, till date.

Sanjay Kumar Srivastava, General Manager, SCR has complimented the efforts of the stores département for achieving ‘Mission Zero Scrap’ and also surpassing the set target ofRailway Board and registering the highest ever earnings.
