SCR GM reviews security and safety of train operations

South Central Railway (SCR) General Manager Arun Kumar Jain held a detailed review meeting on security and safety of train operations on the zone. Neeraj Agrawal, Additional General Manager, SCR participated in the meeting along with all the Principal Heads of Departments. Divisional Railway Managers (DRMs) of all six divisions like Secunderabad, Hyderabad, Vijayawada, Guntakal, Guntur and Nanded joined the review meeting held through video conference on Monday at Rail Nilayam in Secunderabad.

Arun Kumar Jain conducted a detailed review of the security and safety of train operations across the zone. He instructed the officials to boost the security at the railway stations and trains with the deployment of security personnel that is Railway Protection Force (RPF) and Government Railway Police (GRP) wherever necessary for the safety of rail passengers. He also stressed upon the importance of installation of CCTVs in all vulnerable locations. He instructed the officials to take immediate steps to strengthen the security all over the Zone.

Arun Kumar Jain also reviewed the progress of various safety drives being carried out on the zone pertaining to safety of Rail tracks and signaling systems. He also examined the safety action plans of Mechanical, Engineering and Signal and Telecommunications departments and reviewed the availability of safety items such as smoke detectors, fire extinguishers etc.

Arun Kumar Jain discussed on the safety precautions to be followed at all the crossings and points on tracks over the zone and instructed the officials to conduct safety drives by involving all the safety related staff. Officials are also briefed on the availability of safety items such as smoke detectors in AC coaches, fire extinguishers etc. He also instructed the officials to take immediate action on any abnormal situations noticed to avoid unsafe incidents.
