The Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy inaugurated the newly constructed 4-km-long flyover at Aramgarh on Monday, naming it after former Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh in honor of his contributions to the nation and for formation of Telangana.

Speaking at the event, CM Revanth Reddy reaffirmed his commitment to the development of Hyderabad and Telangana, emphasizing a collaborative approach that transcends political differences. “We pursue politics only during elections. For the development of Hyderabad, we are ready to work together with all parties, including MIM,” he stated.

Highlighting his efforts, CM Reddy revealed that he had reached out to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, urging the Centre to allocate funding for critical projects such as Metro Rail Phase-2 and the Regional Ring Road. He also announced plans to hold a high-level meeting with MIM representatives and government officials to address the demands presented by MIM MP Asaduddin Owaisi and MLA Akbaruddin Owaisi.

“This is not the Old City but the Original City and the original Hyderabad,” said the Chief Minister. He outlined plans to develop Mir Alam Tank into a top tourist destination with the construction of a cable-stayed bridge and assured that there would be no shortage of funds for transforming Hyderabad into a world-class city.

Revanth Reddy also lauded the legacy of the Congress government, recalling the construction of the PVNR Expressway under former Chief Minister Y.S. Rajashekhara Reddy and the Congress government’s continued focus on infrastructure. “The second-largest flyover in Hyderabad has now been completed under the present Congress government, and this reflects our dedication to competing with our own past achievements for the city's progress,” he added.

The Chief Minister urged public representatives to take collective responsibility for implementing these development initiatives, ensuring the completion of projects that would enhance the city's infrastructure and livability.

MIM extends support to Cong govt

For the first time, MIM openly backed the Congress government after years of alignment with the BRS party. Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi praised CM Revanth Reddy for prioritizing the Metro Phase-2 expansion to include the Old City and supporting development projects for Hyderabad.

Owaisi lauded Revanth for offering employment to a former jail mate, recalling his own jail experience in 1998, and emphasized the life lessons learned during incarceration. Without naming anyone, he said that not many have gone and they should go to jail for getting a different experience and perspective to life

MIM vowed its support for Congress-led initiatives aimed at transforming Hyderabad. We will focuses on comprehensive infrastructure and skill development in the city, particularly in historically underserved areas like the Old City, he said.
