Director of the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) in Nampally, Shikha Goel, has reported that misinformation is being disseminated following the recent fire incident at the facility.
In a media briefing in Hyderabad, she confirmed that the fire broke out at 10:08 AM on Saturday and was extinguished by the fire department by 1:30 PM. Shikha Goel noted that the blaze affected the FSL laboratory, the training hall, the library, and the HRD room.
"We have lodged a complaint with the police concerning the fire at the FSL. An investigation into the cause of the fire has commenced. Officials are currently assessing the extent of the damages, and we will provide further details once we have an accurate understanding of the situation," she stated.
Shikha Goel additionally asserted that there are individuals circulating inaccurate information regarding the incident, specifically suggestions that crucial evidence in two significant cases has been lost due to the fire. "We had previously submitted the materials pertinent to those cases to the court. There are also unsubstantiated claims being made about a 2015 ACB case. Evidence regarding the case filed at the Panjagutta police station has also been presented to the court," Shikha Goel clarified.
