A Tahsildar in Siddipet district was caught allegedly accepting a Rs.70,000 bribe in a trap laid by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Monday. The accused, Korra Dileep Naik, Tahsildar of Cheryala Mandal, was arrested at his office after he allegedly demanded and accepted the bribe for processing 11 NALA land conversion applications related to land in Nagapuri village.
According to ACB officials, eight of the applications had already been processed, while the remaining were pending. Acting on a complaint, the ACB laid a trap and recovered the tainted Rs.70,000 from the Tahsildar's possession.
The ACB stated that the officer allegedly misused his official position and dishonestly sought an undue advantage in return for performing official duties. The accused was arrested and is being produced before the Special Court for SPE and ACB Cases in Hyderabad. The complainant's identity has been withheld, and further investigation is in progress.
