Singareni Company is expanding into the Green Energy and Critical Minerals sectors with the reservation of names for two new subsidiary companies. For operating solar power and other renewable energy projects in India and abroad, the company has reserved the name Singareni Green Energy Limited.
Another subsidiary, Singareni Global Limited, has been reserved to carry out international mining operations, focusing on critical minerals, rare earth elements, and similar ventures. Applications for both names were submitted last month to the Registrar of Companies under the Ministry of Corporate Affairs, and approval has now been granted.
The move comes under the guidance of Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy and Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka Mallu, with significant efforts from Singareni Chairman N. Balram. The process of reserving these names marks an important step in Singareni’s strategy to diversify and grow beyond its core coal business.
The Union Ministry of Coal has welcomed the initiative, with Under Secretary Pradeep Raj Nayan advising that the new subsidiaries should focus on profitable operations. This development highlights the transformation of Singareni, which has operated for over 130 years as Singareni Collieries Company Limited, into an enterprise with international ambitions.
The establishment of these subsidiaries is seen as a significant milestone for Telangana, reflecting both the company’s growth and the state’s industrial progress. The expansion into renewable energy and critical minerals positions Singareni as a forward-looking company, aiming to balance sustainability with business profitability while enhancing its presence on the global stage. This development underscores Singareni’s commitment to diversification, international expansion, and contributing to Telangana’s economic growth.
