In a scathing address at the BJP's Maha Dharna held at Indira Park on Saturday Rajya Sabha member and BJP OBC Morcha National President Dr. K. Laxman unleashed a barrage of criticism against the Revanth Reddy-led Congress government in Telangana. Marking the completion of two years in power, Dr. Laxman accused the administration of failing to deliver on its promises, engaging in widespread deception, and plunging the state into corruption and chaos.
The protest drew attention to unfulfilled guarantees and alleged mismanagement, with the BJP leader demanding accountability on behalf of the people. Dr. Laxman highlighted how the government has branded its tenure as "people-friendly governance" while squandering crores of rupees on victory celebrations and publicity campaigns. However, he argued that justice has eluded the people of Telangana.
Prior to the elections, as PCC chief, Revanth Reddy had promised six guarantees and 420 assurances to win public trust. "Two years later, what has happened? Every section of society has been betrayed," Dr. Laxman stated, pointing out the lack of implementation for commitments to SC, ST, BC communities, women, farmers, youth, and employees.
None of the six guarantees have been fulfilled, according to Dr. Laxman, leading people to label them as "Sonia-Rahul guarantees mean guarantees of deception. He further alleged that under the guise of cleaning the Musi River, poor people's homes were demolished. The reality, as per Dr. Laxman, is not "Telangana Rising" but "rise in corruption and gun culture!" He expressed alarm over the rampant drug abuse, narcotics, and alcohol issues destroying the futures of students and youth across the state.
Dr. Laxman also accused the government of using the pretext of relocating relocate industrial areas in Hyderabad's Outer Ring Road citing pollution to seize valuable land worth thousands of crores and hand it over to Congress loyalists and cronies. He lamented that Hyderabad has already become a concrete jungle, with the government showing no sincerity toward building schools, hospitals, playgrounds or parks for future generations.
He made it clear that the BJP will not stand idly by, and Telangana society is questioning every issue. Government employees are not receiving salaries on time, and retirees—including teachers and others—are unable to access their hard-earned savings, painting a grim picture, Dr. Lakshman raised concern.
