A devastating accident at a granite quarry in Ballikurava, Bapatla district, claimed the lives of six workers on Sunday, leaving several others seriously injured. The incident occurred when large boulders suddenly collapsed while quarry operations were underway, trapping the workers beneath the rubble.
Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu expressed profound grief over the tragic loss of lives and responded swiftly upon receiving information about the accident. He conveyed deep sorrow over the death of the workers and immediately spoke to senior officials to ascertain the cause of the incident.
CM directed authorities to provide the best possible medical treatment to the injured without delay. He also instructed that the health status of the victims be closely monitored and emphasized the need for a thorough investigation into the circumstances that led to the mishap. CM Naidu called for a comprehensive report and ordered stringent safety protocols to prevent such accidents in the future. An official investigation into the quarry's safety standards and operational compliance has been launched.
