The annual three-day Pavitrotsavam festival will be held at the Srivari temple in Tirumala from August 5 to 7, with the traditional Ankurarpanam ritual taking place on August 4. As part of the festival schedule, Pavitra Pratista will be observed on the first day, followed by Pavitra Samarpana on the second day, and Pavitra Purnahuti on the concluding day. Snapana Tirumanjanam will be performed for the processional deities on all three days.
The Pavitrotsavams, which began in 1962, are conducted as a purification ritual to seek forgiveness for any mistakes committed knowingly or unknowingly by temple priests, staff, or devotees over the course of the year. The rituals are performed in accordance with Agama traditions.
In view of the festival, the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) has cancelled several Arjita Sevas. These include Sahasra Deepalankara Seva on August 4, Astadala Pada Padmaradhana Seva on August 5, and Tiruppavada Seva on August 7. TTD has also announced the cancellation of Kalyanotsavam, Unjal Seva, Arjita Brahmotsavam, and Sahasra Deepalankara Sevas on all three days of the Pavitrotsavams. Devotees have been requested to take note of the changes and cooperate accordingly.
