District Superintendent of Police Dr. Shabarish participated in the "Mana Ooru – Mana Badhyata" (Our Village – Our Responsibility) program held at the Zilla Parishad High School in Kesamudram police station limits on Wednesday and created awareness among students about the harmful effects of ganja and other narcotic substances. The SP warned that narcotic substances such as ganja can destroy the future of young people. He said that once individuals become addicted to drugs, their education, health, and family life can suffer severe consequences.

Dr. Shabarish advised students to remain focused on their goals during their academic years and work hard to achieve success in life. As part of the program, the SP unveiled anti-drug awareness posters carrying the slogan “Say No To Drugs” and displayed them along with the students. He encouraged young people to take the lead in spreading awareness about the dangers and social consequences of drug abuse. Later, at the "Wall of Promise" set up on the school premises, the SP administered an anti-drug pledge to the students.

The SP also announced that individuals providing information related to the cultivation, transportation, sale, or consumption of ganja would be eligible for a cash reward of up to Rs 5,000. He assured that the identity of informants would be kept strictly confidential and urged the public to report any information related to ganja activities by contacting the anti-drug helpline at 87126 56999.
