The district police's ‘Mana Ooru–Mana Baadhyata’ (Our Village–Our Responsibility) campaign, aimed at promoting law and order, road safety, crime prevention, drug eradication, and greater civic responsibility in villages, is receiving a good response across the district. The initiative has brought together local public representatives, village residents, and youth who are actively partnering with the police to strengthen community policing and public safety.
District Superintendent of Police Dr. Shabarish attended the program held at Gopalpuram village in Garla mandal on Monday as the Chief Guest and flagged off a helmet awareness bike rally. The SP said active public participation is essential for ensuring the safety and security of villages. He noted that the resolutions being adopted by villages through the Mana Ooru–Mana Baadhyata campaign are paving the way for meaningful social change. He urged villages to implement the "No Helmet, No Entry" rule to promote road safety and called on communities to work towards creating ganja-free villages by preventing youth from falling prey to narcotics.
Under the supervision of Sub-Inspectors, police personnel carried out door-to-door surveys and awareness campaigns with the support of village sarpanches, ward councillors, village committees and local residents. A major highlight of the program was the Wall of Promise, where a large number of young people and villagers signed a pledge committing themselves to stay away from ganja and other narcotic substances, respect the law, and work towards making their villages drug-free. The specially installed display serves as a lasting reminder of the community's commitment to eliminating drug abuse.
