Speed up grain transport to godowns: Mancherial Collector

Mancherial District Collector Kumar Deepak visited Sumukha godown at Indaram in Jaipur mandal and Jayalakshmi rice mill along with tahsildar Vanaja Reddy on Tuesday and reviewed paddy procurement and transportation process. He instructed officials to ensure speedy unloading of paddy arriving from procurement centres into godowns and rice mills without delay.

Considering the possibility of unseasonal rains, he stressed that the grain should be shifted quickly to avoid damage. He also directed that adequate number of lorry unloading workers (hamalis) be deployed and increased as per requirement to speed up operations. The collector said coordination between procurement centres, transporters and millers is essential for smooth movement of stocks and timely delivery. He emphasized continuous monitoring of stock movement to avoid bottlenecks in procurement operations across the district. Officials were asked to report daily progress to the district administration without fail. He added later on.
