Secunderabad Station Redevelopment Highlights

Union Minister of Coal & Mines, G. Kishan Reddy, emphasized the need to expedite the comprehensive redevelopment of Secunderabad Railway Station during a review meeting of ongoing rail development projects at Rail Nilayam, Secunderabad, on Saturday.

The meeting was attended by Sanjay Kumar Srivastava, General Manager of South Central Railway (SCR), Satya Prakash, Additional GM, Divisional Railway Managers of the Secunderabad and Hyderabad divisions, along with other senior railway officials.

Focus on rail infrastructure in Telangana

During the meeting, the Minister reviewed a range of projects under Telangana’s jurisdiction, including the construction of Road Over Bridges (ROBs), Road Under Bridges (RUBs), and other connectivity-enhancing initiatives. GM Sanjay Kumar Srivastava provided updates on infrastructure projects, survey progress, and train operations.

Minister Reddy reiterated the importance of the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme, which aims to transform major railway stations with modern amenities, cutting-edge technology, and improved passenger facilities. He stressed that phased execution of these projects is crucial to minimizing disruptions to regular train services and enhancing both regional and national rail connectivity.

He also commended the SCR’s commitment to timely project execution, operation of special trains, and contributions to the region's economic development. Discussions also covered key focus areas including freight growth, high-speed rail, and regional ring rail development.
