Riding high after the successful Davos International Summit by signing MoUs worth Rs. 1.8 lakh crore, the Telangana government is intensifying its global outreach to attract foreign investments across key growth sectors. The Congress government said that it is ready to roll out the red carpet for international investors. This sentiment was echoed by IT and Industries Minister D. Sridhar Babu at the Global Leaders Summit 2025 in Hyderabad on Friday.

Addressing an audience comprising delegates from over 25 countries, including Brazil, Germany, Russia, the UK, Belgium, UAE, Cameroon, Malta, and Argentina, Minister Sridhar Babu highlighted Telangana’s emergence as a powerhouse of economic growth and governance in India.

“Many doubted whether Telangana could be formed — today, it is not just a reality, it is unstoppable,” the Minister said, opening his address. Emphasizing the state’s remarkable achievements, he noted that Telangana’s GDP has reached Rs. 16.12 lakh crore with a growth rate of 10.1%, outpacing the national average. The per capita income now stands at Rs. 3.79 lakh — nearly 1.8 times the national figure.

In the last 18 months alone, Telangana has attracted investments exceeding Rs. 3 lakh crore, including Rs. 40,000 crore in the Life Sciences sector, which has created over 2 lakh new jobs. The services sector contributes a robust 66.3% to the state’s GDP, compared to the national average of 55%.

“These are not just numbers — they represent a dynamic, inclusive, and future-ready Telangana,” Sridhar Babu said, urging global investors to look beyond transactional opportunities and become co-creators of the state’s development journey. He outlined key sectors ripe for collaboration — Agro-Innovation, AI-driven Governance, Smart Healthcare, Digital Farming, Future-Ready Education, Sustainable Manufacturing, and Clean Energy.

“While other states follow trends — Telangana creates them,” the Minister declared, calling upon global partners to not just invest, but also participate in building a new paradigm of progress.

Among the prominent international dignitaries at the summit were Lillo Marra (Governor, International Organization for Diplomatic Relations – Malta), Marcello Patti (Secretary, IODR), Ivan Petrov (MP, Belgium), Daniel Gerbin (German Diplomat), Claudio Singoloni (MP, Argentina), Salman Gattu (Chairman, International Business Collaboration), and Gloria Suhasini (Director, IBC).

Minister Sridhar Babu expressed hope that the summit would act as a meaningful bridge for cultural, technological, and strategic exchange, solidifying Telangana’s position as a global hub for innovation and industry. He also urged delegates to spread the word about Telangana’s investor-friendly environment and pro-business policies in their respective countries. Reiterating the Congress-led government’s commitment to economic transformation, the Minister said, “Every partnership is not a transaction — it is a transformation. Come forward to collaborate with a government that delivers.”
