Legislative amendments to the Municipal Act were also approved, transferring the authority for granting building construction and layout permits to municipalities.

This move aims to streamline administrative processes and decentralize decision-making.

The cabinet endorsed investments worth Rs.1,82,162 crore proposed by the State Investment Promotion Board (SIPB), which are projected to create employment opportunities for 2,63,411 people. A notable approval includes 106 acres in Rambilli, Anakapalli district, for industrial investments.

Tata Power was granted approval to establish a 400 MW solar power plant, representing an investment of Rs.2,000 crore and expected to generate employment for 1,380 individuals.

Following the cabinet meeting, Minister Kolusu Parthasarathi briefed the media, emphasizing the government’s commitment to reviving stalled projects and fostering economic growth. He revealed that the state has terminated previous tenders, following recommendations from the World Bank and the Asian Development Bank, and is in the process of issuing fresh tenders to ensure transparency and efficiency.

The minister criticized the previous government for failing to attract international investments, resulting in halted projects and a lack of global financial interest in Andhra Pradesh. Highlighting the current government’s achievements, he stated that major corporations, including Tata and Reliance, are now investing heavily in the state.

He stated that the cabinet has discussed the implementation of welfare schemes like Talliki Vandanam, and announced that the scheme shall be implemented before the start of next academic year. Also, he said that the government has doubled the allowance to fishermen from earlier Rs.10,000 to Rs.20,000, which shall be provided during the fishing ban period.

The cabinet’s decisions mark a significant step toward strengthening Andhra Pradesh’s infrastructure, renewable energy capacity, and industrial base while creating substantial employment opportunities.
