The Telangana government has announced the commencement of a statewide land survey starting June 2, aimed at resolving long-standing revenue and land-related issues. The initiative, led by the Revenue Department, will deploy 6,000 newly appointed surveyors to ensure accurate land records and provide Bhudar cards to landowners.
Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy and IT Minister Sridhar Babu spoke at the Bhu Bharati Revenue Awareness Conference held in Muppirithota, Eligaidu Mandal, Peddapalli District Srinivas Reddy emphasised the significance of the survey in addressing land disputes and ensuring transparency. “With the introduction of the Bhu Bharati Act, we are committed to providing a permanent solution to land-related problems,” he stated.
The revenue minister emphasized that the Bhu Bharati Act was introduced to provide a permanent solution to land-related issues. He announced that the statewide land survey would begin on June 2, with a target to resolve all revenue disputes by August 15. To facilitate this, 6,000 new surveyors have been appointed.
He assured that Bhudar cards would be issued to landowners, ensuring transparency in land records. He also stressed that revenue officials would work without burdening the poor, and reiterated the government's commitment to providing Indiramma housing, with 3,500 homes allocated per constituency annually.
Minister Sridhar Babu described the Bhu Bharati Act as a model for the nation, highlighting its role in rectifying past administrative shortcomings. He criticized the previous government for leaving Telangana’s people struggling with land-related challenges. He assured that the Praja Government is implementing welfare schemes without disruption, despite financial constraints. He also directed revenue officials to ensure that landowners receive fair treatment and that land disputes are resolved efficiently.
The survey will be conducted across villages, with officials visiting communities to address concerns directly. The government has assured that every underprivileged individual will receive Indiramma housing, with 3,500 homes allocated per constituency annually.
