Students urged to give equal importance to education and sports

Karimnagar Municipal Mayor Kolagani Srinivas has called upon students to give equal importance to academics and sports and strive for excellence in all fields. He inaugurated the volleyball championship being organised by the 70th School Games Federation (SGF), Karimnagar Urban, at KPS High School in Rekurthi, Karimnagar. The championship is being conducted in the Under-14 and Under-17 categories for both boys and girls.

Srinivas mentioned that initiatives such as Fit India and Khelo India, being implemented by the Central government under Prime Minister Narendra Modi, were helping identify and promote sporting talent from rural areas. District Education Officer Chaitanya Jaini said sports play a crucial role in the overall development of students.

Dr D. Anjireddy, head of Kota Educational Institutions, said his institutions were consistently encouraging students to pursue sporting excellence along with quality education. He expressed happiness at hosting volleyball competitions and said providing athletes with proper facilities and platforms would motivate them to perform better.
