Telangana’s industrial growth is no accident, it’s the result of visionary policies and inclusive governance, said Minister for Industries & Commerce, D Sridhar Babu during an address at the 2nd edition of IITEX 2025 – Industrial Innovation & Technology Expo that concluded on Sunday.

He said, ‘Telangana’s Index of Industrial Production for Q1 of FY25 recorded a Compound Monthly Growth Rate of 2.90%, nearly six times the national average of 0.52%. This growth isn’t accidental-it reflects our robust and inclusive policies.’

‘MSMEs are the backbone of any economy. Unfortunately, they were neglected over the last decade. Recognizing this, our government launched a progressive and future-ready MSME Policy-a policy that supports revival, resilience, and innovation,’ Minister said.

He also shared that Telangana attracted new investments worth Rs 3.25 lakh crore between 2021–2024 and completed industrial proposals worth nearly Rs 75,000 crore, as per a study by the MSME Export Promotion Council.

Touching upon sectoral achievements, the Minister said, ‘Life Sciences attracted Rs 40,000 crore investments and 150 new projects, creating 51,000 direct and 1.5 lakh indirect jobs. Aerospace and Defense is emerging as another major focus area.

The government is committed to making women entrepreneurs from SHGs crorepathis by setting up dedicated MSME parks for women.

He remarked, ‘The innovations on display—from 3D printing to industrial robotics—make it clear that the future is already here. With over 110 exhibitors and a footfall of more than 10,000 visitors, IITEX is not just an exhibition—it is a movement.’

He urged FTCCI to host IITEX annually and take it beyond Hyderabad to tier-2 and tier-3 cities to democratize industrial innovation.

The three-day expo, which began on Friday, showcased futuristic innovations shaping the Indian industrial landscape.
