Marking the completion of one year of the coalition government in Andhra Pradesh, the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) is set to launch an intensive state-wide door-to-door campaign starting July 2, under the theme of “Suparipaalana Lo Modati Adugu”. The campaign is aimed at showcasing the government’s welfare schemes, development projects, and restoring public trust after what the party describes as “five years of institutional damage under the previous regime.”
Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu chaired a high-level TDP meeting at the party headquarters, NTR Bhavan, in Amaravati on Sunday, attended by ministers, MPs, MLAs, MLCs, district presidents, constituency in-charges, and observers. He laid out a clear roadmap for the month-long outreach programme and issued stern warnings to non-performing leaders.
In a no-nonsense tone, Chandrababu declared that 2029 is his political target, and that he would not hesitate to “say goodbye” to those who do not perform. He emphasized that MLAs’ performance is under constant review, with regular surveys and field intelligence. “I am counting every year, month, day, and hour,” he said, urging leaders to treat the next elections as a countdown. “I’ve been speaking to four legislators a day, and some of you need to pull up your socks. It’s not just about how much work you do, but also how you do it,” he warned.
Highlighting key commitments, Chandrababu reiterated that the Polavaram project would be completed by 2027, and that all halted welfare schemes from the previous TDP tenure (2014–2019) have now been revived — nearly 75 schemes in total. “Restoring what was destroyed in five years is not easy. But we are rebuilding the state with the people’s trust,” he asserted.
He criticized the opposition YSRCP for pushing the state into disarray, stating, “We inherited a state on a ventilator. But we’re not here for power—we’re here for the state’s future.” The CM said 94% strike rate in recent polls must be protected and converted into meaningful governance and results.
He also strongly condemned what he called the YSRCP’s toxic use of media and social platforms. “No other party in the country has stooped this low. They’ve weaponized media and harassed women through social media.
