Reaffirming the Telugu Desam Party’s unwavering commitment to its grassroots cadre, Andhra Pradesh Minister for Education and IT Nara Lokesh declared that the TDP has always been, and will always remain, a party that stands by its workers, in good times and in hardship. Lokesh made these remarks during his visit to Dagadarthi on Thursday, where he paid floral tributes to TDP State Vice-President and Agros Corporation Chairman Maleapati Subba Naidu and his nephew Bhanu Chander, who both recently passed away.

After offering respects at their portraits, Minister Lokesh visited their family members, extended condolences, and assured them of the party’s full support. “The Telugu Desam Party has always been a family for its cadre. From the beginning, we have treated every worker as our strength and backbone,” Lokesh said, addressing reporters after the visit.

Lokesh emphasized that while many regional parties exist in India, only the Telugu Desam Party is known for its strong and emotionally connected cadre. “For every TDP worker, the yellow flag is not just a symbol, it’s an emotion,” he remarked. He recalled how during the recent Mahanadu, the TDP proudly proclaimed that ‘the worker is our leader’, a statement no other political party could make.

Lokesh highlighted that the TDP, under N. Chandrababu Naidu’s leadership, established a Welfare Fund for Party Cadre in 2014, spending over Rs 135 crore for workers’ welfare. He also pointed out that a model school in Hyderabad was set up to educate children of activists killed in factional violence, many of whom now work for global firms like Deloitte and Accenture.

Speaking emotionally about the late Subba Naidu, Lokesh said, “He was more than a leader; he was family to me. He embodied discipline, loyalty, and integrity. When I entered politics in 2013, he stood by me and guided me closely. His loss is deeply personal.” Lokesh recalled visiting him in the hospital soon after his stroke and urging doctors to provide the best treatment. “We not only lost a dedicated leader but also a pillar of strength for our party in the region,” he said.

“TDP Will Support the Family and Bring Them Forward Politically”

Pledging full support to Subba Naidu’s bereaved family, Lokesh asserted, “This is a test for both the family and for us. The TDP will stand by them not only emotionally but will also ensure they grow politically. As National General Secretary, I take this responsibility personally.” He warned those spreading malicious propaganda against the family that strict action would follow.
