Several key investment announcements
Opella Healthcare, a global consumer healthcare company spun off from Sanofi and headquartered in France, is expanding its GCC operations in Hyderabad with a 42,000 sq. ft. facility. The expansion is expected to generate up to 500 jobs within the next year.
Vaksindo Animal Health Pvt Ltd, a division of JAPFA Indonesia, is setting up a state-of-the-art BSL-3 vaccine manufacturing facility in Genome Valley. The unit will produce vaccines for poultry, cattle, swine, and aquaculture, strengthening India’s animal health infrastructure.
Tredence Inc, an AI and data science company, is establishing its Hyderabad operations as a dedicated innovation hub focused on AI-driven healthcare and life sciences analytics. The proposed facility will span around 18,000 sq. ft. and support its global operations.
Rx Propellant (RxP) will develop a large-format life sciences campus in Genome Valley as part of its long-term commitment to India’s life sciences ecosystem. The project will feature over one million square feet of advanced laboratory infrastructure across nearly 12 acres, to be delivered in phases over the next six years.

Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Tuesday said BioAsia is fast surpassing its identity and is poised to emerge as “Bio-World,” reflecting Hyderabad’s growing stature as a global life sciences powerhouse. Inaugurating BioAsia 2026 at HITEX along with IT & Industries Minister D. Sridhar Babu, the Chief Minister expressed confidence that the flagship event would soon gain global recognition on the lines of the World Economic Forum organised in Davos.
Stating that BioAsia stands as proof of Hyderabad’s success as a life sciences hub, the Chief Minister highlighted Telangana’s strengths that will support its rise from being the global vaccine capital to becoming the global life sciences capital. He attributed this transformation to the State’s strong vision and clear policy framework, availability of highly qualified human resources, and the presence of premier educational and research institutions.
Referring to the massive international participation at the event, he said the scale and diversity of representation demonstrate Hyderabad’s global appeal.
BioAsia 2026 witnessed record participation, with more than 4,000 delegates representing 500 top companies from across the global life sciences ecosystem.
The Chief Minister outlined key initiatives driving the sector’s expansion, including the launch of the Telangana Next-Gen Life Sciences Policy at Davos, expansion of Genome Valley, the rollout of 1Bio as a world-class research and innovation platform, acceleration of Green Pharma City, and the opening of several Global Capability Centres (GCCs) in Hyderabad. He noted that Hyderabad has emerged as a global hub for GCCs, excelling in research and design.
“In the last two years, we have received over ₹73,000 crore investments in life sciences,” he said, underscoring the State’s rapid growth trajectory. He described Hyderabad as the preferred destination to set up GCCs, build innovation engines, design molecules and drugs, manage clinical analytics, develop AI platforms, and drive digital manufacturing.
Emphasising the city’s comprehensive ecosystem, Revanth Reddy said Hyderabad has become home to major thought and business leaders in pharma, biosciences, biotechnology, bulk drugs, vaccines, and healthcare. “From bulk drugs to biologics, from manufacturing to innovation, from India to the world, Telangana is moving up the value chain,” he said, adding that the State has emerged as a trusted, stable, and future-ready ecosystem.
On the occasion, the Chief Minister presented the Genome Valley Excellence Award to Prof. Bruce Levine, renowned professor from the University of Pennsylvania, in recognition of his distinguished contributions to life sciences research and innovation.
Global Life Sciences majors line up investments
Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, along with Minister for IT & Industries D. Sridhar Babu, met top executives and representatives of several leading global life sciences companies on the sidelines of BioAsia 2026, reinforcing Telangana’s position as a premier destination for life sciences investments.
During the interactions, the Chief Minister reiterated the State government’s commitment to providing comprehensive support to companies looking to invest and expand in Hyderabad. He noted that several prominent life sciences firms have already established their Global Capability Centres (GCCs) in the city, leveraging its robust ecosystem, skilled talent pool, and progressive policy framework.
To further strengthen this momentum, the Chief Minister proposed the creation of a dedicated GCC zone in Bharat Future City, with a special focus on enabling innovation centres for global life sciences companies. The initiative aims to consolidate Hyderabad’s leadership as a hub for research, analytics, digital transformation, and advanced manufacturing in the life sciences sector.
