Telangana Govt RERA extends project timelines by four months

The Telangana Real Estate Regulatory Authority (TG RERA) has extended the registration validity and completion timelines of eligible registered real estate projects by four months, citing the impact of the prevailing conflict in West Asia. The decision has been taken by invoking the Force Majeure provisions under Section 6 of the Real Estate (Regulation and Development) Act, 2016, following an advisory issued by the Union Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs.

The extension applies to all TG RERA registered projects whose original, revised, or previously extended completion dates fall on or after February 28, 2026. Projects with completion deadlines between February 28 and July 31, 2026, will now have revised completion timelines up to November 30, 2026.

TG RERA clarified that developers are not required to submit separate applications or pay any additional fees to avail of this extension. The authority stated that the move is intended to mitigate the challenges arising from disruptions linked to the West Asia conflict while ensuring the timely completion of projects. The decision also aims to safeguard the interests of homebuyers by facilitating the smooth execution of ongoing real estate projects across Telangana despite prevailing global uncertainties.
