Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka stated that no state in India has the capability to achieve development like Telangana. On Saturday, Bhatti Vikramarka laid the foundation stone for several power substations in the Kothagudem district and a high-level bridge in Palwancha.

Speaking at a programme at the Kothagudem Collectorate, he emphasised that Telangana is progressing holistically with growth in sectors such as IT, pharma, power, health, housing, and welfare schemes. The Deputy Chief Minister criticised the previous rulers who, after misusing public funds for ten years and remaining idle, are now unable to tolerate Telangana’s growth and are making baseless comments. He asserted that the government will answer them through visible development.

The Deputy Chief Minister announced the launch of the Indira Solar Tribal Water Development Scheme to protect forests and uplift tribals with dignity. This scheme will span from Adilabad to Bhadrachalam along the Godavari basin and cover tribals in the Krishna basin too.

The government will install borewells, solar electricity, drip and sprinkler irrigation systems, and promote horticulture crops like avocados and bamboo with help from the horticulture department. The scheme will be officially launched on Monday in Achampet, Nagarkurnool district, Bhatti Vikramarka said. He reiterated that Rs.12,500 crore will be spent without imposing any cost on tribal communities.

He mentioned that while the previous administration couldn’t manage a 15,000 MW demand in 2023–24, the current government handled a peak demand of 17,162 MW in March without disruption. Such high demand had never occurred even in the history of the combined Andhra Pradesh. He added that along with thermal power, solar, hydel, and wind power would be utilized, and the government is targeting 20,000 MW of green energy.

Bhatti Vikramarka emphasized, “It was the Congress that brought electricity to the state, not KCR. He did not bring it, nor did he provide it.” The Sitarama Project is being prioritised by the state government, and necessary land acquisition for its canals will be undertaken, he said.
