The last day of May was special in more ways than one as Telangana made history when Opal Suchata of Thailand was crowned 72nd Miss World out beating 108 contestants at the HITEX Exhibition Centre.
It was a memorable day for Telangana Government as well as the city of minarets which played host for the Miss World Festival. The two previous occasions were in 1996 and 2024. Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy’s unwavering determination and dynamic leadership played a pivotal role in the resounding success of the 72nd Miss World Festival hosted in Telangana not only elevated Telangana’s stature on the world map but also set a benchmark for how global events can be used as platforms for cultural diplomacy, economic development, and social empowerment. His determination ensured that Miss World 2025 was not just a spectacle — but a celebration of purpose, pride, and progressive governance.
In a dazzling coronation moment, Krystyna Pyszková of Czechia, the 71st Miss World, passed the crown with grace and pride to her successor, Opal Suchata. As the applause thundered through the arena, the newly crowned Miss World stood luminous — a symbol of compassion, courage, and commitment. She personified the Miss World ethos: “Beauty with a Purpose,” proving that grace, intelligence, and empathy can together inspire and uplift the world.
Despite heightened geopolitical tensions between India and Pakistan, the 72nd Miss World Festival in Telangana emerged as a resounding success — a powerful testament to the state's unwavering commitment to global peace, cultural diplomacy, and flawless event execution.
The 72nd Miss World Festival in Telangana unfolded as a vibrant journey of culture, compassion, and purpose, beginning with a grand opening at Hyderabad’s Gachibowli Indoor Stadium. The state anthem “Jaya Jaya Hey,” a majestic Perini dance by 250 artists, and a colorful flag parade set a powerful tone of unity and heritage.
Contestants found spiritual calm at Buddhavanam, while others explored Hyderabad’s iconic Charminar and Laad Bazaar, culminating in a royal dinner at Chowmahalla Palace. Encounters with Telangana’s rich past continued at Ramappa Temple, the Thousand Pillar Temple, and Warangal Fort, where the architectural brilliance of the Kakatiyas captivated visitors. From sacred rituals at Yadagirigutta to the vibrant weaving heritage of Pochampally and the folklore under Pillalamarri’s ancient banyan tree, the journey reflected soulful India.
At AIG Hospitals, beauty met empathy, as contestants embraced Telangana’s strides in medical innovation. At Experium Eco Park, fashion and sustainability merged in a showcase of eco-conscious design. The Miss World Sports Challenge brought energy and camaraderie to the arena, while Ramoji Film City dazzled with cinematic charm.
At the Telangana Police Command Centre, contestants witnessed technology and compassion converge in public service. The Secretariat hosted an evening of remembrance, art, and governance. At T-Hub, contestants passionately presented their “Beauty with a Purpose” projects, addressing issues from mental health to education — turning ideals into action.
The journey culminated at Shilparamam, where contestants created traditional crafts with rural artisans, finding meaning in hands-on connection. The Talent Finale at Shilpakala Vedika was a global symphony of art, dance, music, and spoken word. As Miss India’s garba, Indonesia’s piano, and Miss Kenya’s DJ set lit up the night, the Miss World sisterhood stood united — radiant, resilient, and ready to inspire change through beauty with purpose.
