CM quotes famous saying “Upar Sherwaani Andar Pareshaani” to drive home the point
Metro India News | Hyderabad
The Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has highlighted the severe financial crisis inherited from the previous BRS government, terming it a "Financial Cancer" that is crippling Telangana. Despite these tough times, I am trying to pay salaries to government employees, pensioners, contract staff, and all by the first of every month, which was not the case in the previous government. This month, I took the help of the RBI to get Rs 4000 crore to repay the government employees’ salaries, Revanth said
CM handed over appointment letters to 1,292 Junior Lecturers and 240 Polytechnic Lecturers at a programme held at Ravindra Bharati, Hyderabad on Wednesday. Extending his congratulations, the Chief Minister emphasized that this was not just a job but an emotion, acknowledging the significant role of unemployed youth in the formation of Telangana state.
Addressing the gathering, CM said that he did not want to run the government on falsehood and lies
When I am disclosing the exact financial situation of the state, the overall debt and monthly repayment burden, some are criticizing me, how can I reveal the financial figures to the people of the state.
“Upar Sherwaani Andar Pareshaani” this is the situation at present
For example, a person who is hale and healthy and has a six pack is affected with cancer…how long can the person hide this fact? It will come out in the open one day. Similarly, Telangana is facing a Financial Cancer, courtesy of the previous government, Revanth said.
Despite these tough times, I am trying to pay salaries to government employees, pensioners, contract staff, and all by the first of every month, which was not the case in the previous government. This month, I took the help of the RBI to get Rs 4000 crore to repay the government employees’ salaries, Revanth said.
“The state generates a monthly revenue of Rs 18,000-18,500 crore, of which Rs 13,000 crore is allocated to salaries and debt repayments for the Rs 7 lakh crore borrowed by the previous government. This leaves only Rs 5,500 crore for welfare schemes, infrastructure, and development projects, creating a shortfall of nearly Rs 4,000 crore per month,” he explained. The Chief Minister urged government employees to understand the situation and cooperate in navigating through the financial crisis.
Revanth Reddy took a strong stance against the previous administration, stating, "KCR left behind Rs 40,000 crore in pending bills and a financial mess. I refuse to run the government based on lies. I will share the truth and work towards Telangana’s development with the people's support."
Telangana's declining graph in Education: A call to action for the Teaching fraternity
The Chief Minister also expressed deep concern over Telangana’s poor performance in the education sector, emphasizing that the state lags behind in comparison to other states. He criticized the previous BRS government for its failure to address unemployment and its neglect of the education system.
“Job aspirants lost 12 valuable years due to the inaction of the previous government. In just one year, we have filled 55,163 jobs, ensuring a permanent solution to unemployment—one of the key promises of the Telangana movement,” he stated.
Acknowledging the crucial role of teachers, CM Revanth Reddy urged the newly recruited educators to uplift educational standards with the same passion that drove the Telangana movement. “Government schools and colleges must compete with private institutions. The continuous decline in student enrollment in government schools is alarming. This issue requires serious reflection from the teaching community,” he added.
He reiterated that investment in education is not an expenditure but a foundation for the future. “The future of Telangana and the country lies in our classrooms. We must reform the education system, improve teaching quality, and make government schools a preferred choice for students once again.” Revanth Reddy called upon the teaching fraternity to put in their best efforts to revive Telangana’s education sector and contribute to the state's progress.
