The High Court has granted permission to Telangana Public Service Commission (TGPSC) to declare the results of Group One examination. The High Court today held a hearing on the petitions filed by Group-1 candidates regarding reservations.
After the hearing, the High Court dismissed the petition filed by Group-1 candidates and directed TGPSC to declare the results.
The TGPSC has already completed the Group-1 examinations from October 21st to 27th . Group-1 candidates have filed a petition not to declare the results till the issue of reservations is settled. The High Court set aside their objections.
Group - 1 candidates have approached the High Court, expressing objections to GO No. 29 which dealt with selection of candidates in preliminary exam for the main exam without taking reservations into consideration. The candidates had asked the government to postpone the exams until their petitions are heard in the High Court.
CM Revanth Reddy had made it clear then that there was no question of postponing the exams. With this, the candidates filed a petition in the Supreme Court at the last minute. The Supreme Court has also ruled that the exams cannot be postponed at the last minute. It has been suggested that the High Court should decide on this.
Earlier, the candidates had filed a petition in the High Court Single Bench seeking cancellation of the Group-1 Mains examinations. The Single Bench dismissed the petition. Within two days, the candidates had filed a petition in the Division Bench challenging the Single Bench's verdict.
The Division Bench also dismissed the petition filed by the candidates seeking postponement of the Group-1 examinations.
The Division Bench agreed with the verdict given by the Single Bench. After that, the government conducted the Group - 1 exams as usual from October 21 to 27.
