The Telangana government has welcomed three new faces into the State Cabinet — all first-time ministers. The new ministers are Dr. G. Vivek Venkataswamy (Chennur), Vakiti Srihari (Makthal), and Adluri Lakshman Kumar (Dharmapuri). Each brings a distinct socio-political background and deep connect with their constituencies and communities.

Son of Late Congress leader and former Union Minister G. Venkatswamy (Kaka), Dr. Vivek Venkatswamy embodies political heritage and public service. A qualified medical doctor from Osmania Medical College, he entered Parliament in 2009 from Peddapalli and played an instrumental role in the Telangana statehood movement. He rejoined the Congress in 2023 and was elected MLA from Chennur.

As the founder of V6 News and Velugu Daily, he significantly shaped public discourse during the Telangana agitation. His philanthropic arm, Visaka Charitable Trust, has spent over ₹100 crore on rural education, women empowerment, and health initiatives. A strong voice for Dalit rights, his “Malala Simhagarjana Sabha” drew lakhs in 2024.

Vakiti Srihari, a BA graduate from a modest family, has emerged from the grassroots of Mahabubnagar district politics. Beginning his career as Makthal Mandal Congress Secretary in the 1990s, he steadily rose to become ZPTC (2014–18), DCC President (2022–24), and was elected MLA in 2023 with a margin of over 17,000 votes.

Srihari is known for his hands-on leadership across rural governance, having led panchayat, municipal, and ZPTC elections. His deep-rooted connect with party cadres and consistent work during COVID-19 relief efforts cemented his reputation as a reliable mass leader. His family members, including wife Lalitha and relatives, have also held local public offices.

Adluri Lakshman Kumar was Born in Peddapally and active in public life since his NSUI college days in the 1980s, Adluri Lakshman Kumar has spent four decades in service of the Congress party. After serving in the Youth Congress and contesting multiple elections, he finally won in 2023 from Dharmapuri, defeating a former minister Koppula Eshwar with a thumping majority of over 22,000 votes.

He previously served as ZP Chairman (2010–12) and AP SC Finance Corporation Chairman. Known for his perseverance and commitment, Lakshman Kumar’s appointment as Government Whip earlier this year was widely appreciated. His inclusion in the Cabinet is seen as a reward for his loyalty, persistence, and deep understanding of SC community issues.
